Shepherds Arms
The Shepherds Arms was originally built in 1300's and was known as Nether Hall. The pub itself was rebuilt in 1590's and is probably one of West Yorkshires most beautiful pubs. It is reputed that Queen Elizabeth I stayed here. Many of the original beams and wooden nails are still visible and continue doing the job that they were designed for. Whether you want a special meal out or simply have a pie and a pint - The Shepherds Arms is the place to go. |

The Shepherds Arms offer a full menu service that is available throughout the day. All food is freshly made to ensure that your food is piping hot and exactly what you would expect from a pub of such quality and standing. In addition to the standard menu there are also evenings arranged where themed nights are catered for. These range from Indian Cuisine with familiar dishes such as Chicken Tikka Masala through to the Jamaican evenings that include traditional dishes such as Goats Curry and Jerk Chicken. At the impressive Shepherds Arms there is also a beer garden to the rear that really is a sun trap in the summer months. Here, you can sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Horbury, while enjoying one of the many beers, lagers or refreshments that are available. | |
Within the beer garden there is a full childrens play area so the kids can fully enjoy the day in the pleasant surroundings. In summer months will find a Bouncy Castle or similar childrens activity available. |

This is a view of the front and main room, which shows the small raised area in the corner. This is used when bands or Karaoke are present. During the day and on evenings this is used as a no smoking area for diners so they can enjoy their food. |

This is another of the No smoking areas for Diners which is located in a raised area just off from the bar. This is an ideal location for setting out buffets when the need arises. Keeping the food out of the way while you gather and discuss relevant topics with colleagues, friends and acquintances. |

This is the Tap Room located at the rear of pub. Keeping with the traditions of years gone by, this is one of a few public houses that still possess a Tap Room. Televisions are located in this room for all sporting events. |

The pub has Sky Sports and subscribes to Premiership Plus to ensure that all sporting taste are catered for. There is a large projector screen in the front room for those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere and in a more spacious environment. |

The Tap Room is the original part of the building and has its very own own Priest Hole. Inside the fire place, the Priests used to climb up and hide on the ledges that can be found within the chimney breast to avoid being caught. |

The Tap Room then extends further through the doors to the pool room. Here you can find 2 pool tables, dart board and the juke box which allows over 1,000,000 selections. So whatever your choice in music - it WILL be available. |

The Shepherds Arms has its own pool team and are always looking for new players to further strengthen the team. The match night is Wednesday and anyone looking to enjoy pool matches are more than welcome to come along and join in. |
